Tiempo, Inc Home

History

Established in 1978 in Phoenix, Arizona, Tiempo Inc. has been serving communities across the southwest for more than thirty years.

Tiempo was originally founded by Noel Fidel and Danny Robledo in 1978, as a for-profit subsidiary of Chicanos Por La Causa Inc. specializing in real estate development. The company gained success and notoriety quickly. And in 1982, Manny Gauna became Tiempo’s Chief Executive Officer.

Gauna expanded the company’s portfolio to include property management of conventional (market rate), affordable (Senior housing – HUD 202, Family Housing – HUD 221(d)3, & Rural Development), and Tax Credit communities in Arizona. With the company’s ever-increasing portfolio, Tiempo made another key hire in Jay E. “Corky” Northrop in 2000.

Northrop’s extensive experience in residential and commercial property management and land development has enabled Tiempo to efficiently manage its largest portfolio to-date, while keeping overhead costs to a minimum and staff morale at an all-time high. Additionally, he spearheaded the acquisition of a number of individuals to further develop Tiempo’s operations. Most occurred as a result of industry relationships established over many years. And under Northrop’s leadership, Tiempo has built and continues to build a team of trusted, valued staff.

Currently, Tiempo develops and manages residential housing (single- and multi-family) and commercial properties throughout the southwest, including 50+ single-family homes for lease and for sale; more than 2,300 apartment units (conventional housing, Section 8-202 housing, 221(d) 3 housing, and tax credit housing); and commercial properties such as office and specialty retail facilities, computer training facilities, quick-service restaurants, and behavioral health facilities.
